Pass It On Swap is not a nonprofit (yet) — which means everything you see is built and run by volunteers. Right now, that’s us… and a growing group of generous people who believe in helping families in simple, practical ways.
We’re still in the early stages, which means we need help of all kinds — organizers, social media helpers, donation sorters, partnership connectors, graphic designers, event-day volunteers, and big-picture thinkers. Whether you have one hour to give or a specific skill set to offer, your support truly matters.
If you’ve ever wanted to be part of building something from the ground up that directly serves families in our community, we’d love to connect.

How donations are used
Monetary donations are not distributed to individuals. They are used only to operate and grow the Pass It On Swap and may include:
• Event insurance and safety requirements
• Tables, clothing racks, and storage bins
• Venue supplies and signage
• Sorting and organization materials (labels, hangers, bags)
• Volunteer support (water, simple refreshments, supplies)
• Website, registration, standard operational costs, and communication tools
• Transportation of donated items
• Future events and expansion into additional communities
The Pass It On Swap is a completely free community event. Families are never charged to attend and are never required to donate in order to receive items. Our goal is to create a welcoming space where parents and caregivers can access children’s clothing, toys, and baby essentials without pressure or embarrassment.
While the items themselves are donated by the community, there are still real costs involved in hosting safe, organized events. Financial contributions allow us to run events consistently, keep them accessible to everyone, and expand to serve more families.
We are currently a community service project working toward formal nonprofit status. Every contribution goes directly toward making these events possible and sustainable.
Whether you donate funds, items, time, or simply help spread the word, you are helping families support their children and helping usable goods stay in the community instead of in landfills.
Thank you for being a part of The Pass It On Swap.
A message from our Founder, Hannah Buehner.
The Pass It On Swap began in a very ordinary way — with kids outgrowing clothes faster than we could keep up, and costs soaring higher every day.
My husband and I have three little boys under five, and like so many families, we were constantly rotating through sizes, seasons, and shoes that only fit for a few months. Not to mention the Christmas shopping that was quickly draining our savings. Even shopping secondhand or at consignment stores, it still added up quickly. At the same time, we had perfectly good items sitting in our home that someone else could use right away, and toys our kids never even touched anymore.
So in December of 2025, we decided to try something simple: invite people to bring children’s items they no longer needed and allow any family to come take what they could use, completely free. We didn’t know what would happen.
Forty families came.
Our small group of helpers sorted and packed over 30 bags of clothing, toys, and baby supplies. What we saw that day was more than just an exchange of things — it was relief for parents, excitement for kids, and a community showing up for one another.
That experience became The Pass It On Swap.
Our hope is simple: help families spend less, serve more, and keep usable children’s items in our community instead of in landfills. We believe small acts of generosity, repeated together, can make a lasting difference.
We’re grateful you’re here and part of it.
